Mammals

A mammal is a warm-blooded vertebrate animal characterized by the presence of hair or fur, a neocortex in the brain, and mammary glands that produce milk to nourish their young. Mammals also have three middle ear bones and a lower jaw made of a single pair of bones.

European Badger (Meles meles)

The European badger builds complex burrows that can last for many years. These burrows have multiple chambers with bedding materials like grass, leaves and moss, as well as long tunnels and multiple entrances. They regularly refresh their bedding. These complex underground networks of tunnels and chambers are used for shelter, breeding and raising young.
