Full-day nature experience for beginners (1 day)

Join us for a full day dedicated to wildlife, where you'll get the chance to observe a variety of bird species in their natural habitat and learn more about the mammals and the area.  This educational day is intended to provide valuable insights into recognizing various mammal tracks and bird identification and observation techniques.

Morning Session: Forest Exploration in the National Park

Our day starts at 9am, when we meet in the car park and step into the forest for a fascinating introduction. You will learn to read animal tracks, learn about the various birds that call and receive practical tips on using binoculars. We also get acquainted with the landscape. The morning consists of a 5.5 km educational walk, a journey designed to deepen your connection with the forest while focusing on observation, reflection and respect for the ecosystem.

As we move quietly through the trees, we try to spot as many different bird species as possible, listen to their calls and observe their movements. In addition, we pay attention to all kinds of traces left by the mammals: droppings, prints,... This immersive experience allows you to connect with nature and improve your skills.

Lunch Break

Around noon, we take a break for a delicious, freeze-dried lunch (or you can bring your own). Relax and recharge for the exciting afternoon ahead.

Afternoon Session: Bird Watching at river 'Rur'.

In the afternoon, we sit by the river 'Rur'. Are you keen to spot a kingfisher, a buzzard, a red kite, a grey wagtail or a white-throated dipper? If you'd like to stay overnight, bring your own tent to camp by the Rur on the camping. In the evening you'll have an even better chance of seeing nutria's, other bird species and mouflons on the mountain slopes.
